One of the top tag teams in the Midwest the Lumberjacks spend their time knocking out their opponents on Saturday nights with their massive hands but in the month of June they will be using their hearts.

MWR recently got word that Abe and Gabe will take part in the annual MDA events at Babler state park on Sunday June 24th with a meet and greet with the young kids of the MDA. The weeklong camp is a wonderful event for the kids each year and when we spoke to the Lumberjacks, they were thrilled to be a part of helping out.

Lumberjack Abe stated “ We love our fans that come to the show and support us and we are thrilled to give back to the MDA. Both my brother and I are excited to see the kids at the camp to take photos and sign autographs.”

It’s the one week of the year where children with Muscular Dystrophy can focus on their abilities and not their disabilities.

The kids participate in the usually summer camp activities, such as swimming, power soccer and tee ball. And Therapeutic Horsemanship provides campers with horses to ride.

Michael Strider is retiring from pro wrestling for real, last match Saturday in Kansas City, Kansas

Posted by flairwhoooooo on June 2, 2012

By Justin Kendall from the Pitch.

Retirements in professional wrestling almost never stick (no wrestler has retired more times than Terry Funk). But Michael Strider insists that his retirement is for real.

The first clue that he’s serious may be the way he answers the phone: “Hi, this is Justin.”

Strider’s real name is Justin Appleberry. He understands how people might be skeptical that he’s leaving the bloody brawls with forks and razor wire.

“The only thing that would be different for me than those guys is, they make a living at it,” Strider says. “I make my living working at Ringside/Combat Sports. I don’t want to get beat up any worse than I already am, so it’s a good time. … I’m getting older and getting ready to start a family and everything, and I want to be able to play catch with my kids and go to Little League and be able to move around halfway decently.”
